FRUIT IN SHORTER SUPPLY Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that smaller quantities of frUits have come to hand during the past week, values in all insta'hces showing an improvement iipon those obtaining last period. Small consgnments of quinces were available, these being sold readily. Hothouse tomatoes have also come to hand, while grapes and all citrus have been in very keen enquiry. Most varieties of vegetables have also been sought. A good demand continues for cauliflowers, kumeras ana rhubarb, while choice pumpkins have been- placed' "at ceiling. A very keen market is now existing for all breeds of poultry. With unfavourable weather now mostly ruling, all cut ffowers have sold at higher values.
