MORE MEN'S CLOTHING, LESS LUXURY LINES
WELLINGTON, June 20. Remits-concerning the price of clothing and the quantity of tobacco available were passed by-tlie R.S.A. Conference today. After expressing themselves unequivocally about the matter the 250 delfegates passed thh following remit: '■ ' That the Price Tribtfnal be urged to enforce stricter control of the manufacture of luxury lines (ladies ' handbags, frocks, CtC.) whilu a more generous view in regard to prices be takeft with the manufacture of men 's suits and trousers, botli sport and working tweeds and shirts otlier thaa sports shirtS. ' * Support was also given to a remit from Hokitika that returned servicemen who have set up as liairdressers and tobacconists be granted a greater supply of tobacco "to ensure a reasonable chance of making a success of their businesses."
