R.S.A. EXCLUDES J-FORCE MEN
WELLINGTON, June 1D. Ex-servicemen wliose only qualilk'a H011 is that they wero members of tlie J. Foree will not be admitted to 'the N.Z.K.M.A., according to a decision ■ by the Dominion Couneil. In moving a remit to this effect Mr. J. D. Gerard (Whangarei) said J. Foree men were not returned servicemen as members or the association understood the term though many J Foree personnel had re sponded to the appeal to represent New Zealand in Japan. Mr. L. A. Lopdell (Iiivereargiil) saia the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association in lus towij had stated. that it would aceept o Foree soldiers as members. At the evening session Major Generai Kippenberger took strong exeeptiou to tlie tone' that he said he discerned towards the J Foree. Foliowiug liis remarks it was resolved that the N.Z.R.S.A. realised the importauce of the role of the J Foree I and reeoinmended R.S.A. branehes to J eneourage enlistment in it, .also that the N.Z.R.S.A. wouid assist members of the J Foree to form an association of their own if they so desired.
