KURDISH TRIBE FLEES TO RUSSIA

Received Friday, 10.20 a.m. TEHERAN, June 19. An official announcement says that the Kurdish chieftan, Mustafa Barzani, and his followers fled to Russia after Persian Government troops routed them near the Rus-sian-Turkish border, and left arms and ammunition behind them. They suffered many casualties in heavy fighting in the last 24 hours. The tribesmen crossed from Iraq three weeks ago after the Iraq Government refused the chieftain a pardon for leading a revolt.
