The Dominion secretary advised that the clothes would be dispatched overseas early in June. Grateful thanks were extended to the ladies who so willingly-.spent time mending, darning and cleaning the clothes. The CORSO council sent sincere thanks to all who had helped in the ■ drive for the enthusiastic and excellently-: executed job done. Mrs. Creagh reported that the clothes drive was indeed a great success, and the respo'nse had been marvellous and a credit to the district. Grateful thanks were due to the car drivers and the school children, and to all those who had assisted. A consignment of sixteen cartons of clothing and footwear had gone for ward to Wellington and also the sum of £2 14s in cash. A report was received stating that a united Red Cross effort, which is styled "Save the Children Campaign," is being made throughout New Zealand for clothing for forty-five million children who are underclothed and undernourished. This appeal should be universally popular and each sub-bran'ch is being asked to do its utmost to assist in the urgent work of clothing the cold little bodies of children in less fortunate parts of the world. Members of the subbranch decided to obtain permission to conduct a street stall in Shannon during September to raise funds to purchase materials with which to make up garments. It was decided to appeal to all women's organisations for assistance, stating that the Red Cross' Society would be very pleased toreceive any garments or material, or any articles to place. on the saies table in September. Every little help would 'be aceeptable. The next meeting is to be held in August.
