Torrential rain and gales up to 90 miles an liour have caused damage in Tasmania estimated at £25,000. Gales over the Australian Alps toru 40 square feet of roofing of? the Kosciusko hotel and reach.ed 70 miles an hour. In Tasmania more than 100 square miles of the Huon Valley are under water. Rain is still falling. Gales over the Tasman have disrupted the shipping aad air services. Tlie weather in Bydney rernains fine and miid.
