AUCKLAND, June 12. Anonymous and other letters now m the possession of the police arfe regarded as ppssiblv vitally importaut in solving the deepening. mystery of the murder of.Mrs. Rusden. The letters received by her are being given special examiuation behind closed doors by handwriting experts and deteetives. £lt is abundantly clear that for some eonsiderable timo Mrs. Rusden lias been the centre of a vicious circle,'-,; said a neighbour who knew her intimately. Mrs. Rusden received tliree unsigned letters, two in pencil and a third in ink. It is understood uniform discrep•aneies in spelling occurred in two of. the anonymous letters which eolours the theory that one person may have been the anthor of both.
