Opossum Trapping , . : Oppossum trapping this season has not been as successful as in bast years. - The animals are fairly scarce and the skins of those trapped not up to expectations. Camp Plan Unsuitable A meeting of- the committee of the Otaki Commercial Association was held on Tuesday night, when a plan of the. camping area at Tasman Beach forwarded by the Otaki Borough Council, was considered. It was decided that the plan was unsuitable, and that the president, Mr. W. McBeth, and Mr. A. W. Buxton, be the association's delegates* to meet three members of the council on the camp site at an early date for the purpose of giving the matter further consideration. Work on Bowling Greens The two local bowling greens are being prepared for next season and the surfaces promise to be better than ever. The Railway Club, which will hold its annual meeting on June 19, hopes to have a greatly increased membership, while the Otaki Club, which will hold its annual meeting shortly, expects to again be in a flourishing position. ' The Waikanae Club is making efforts to have a more enjoyable sbason, while the Paraparaumu Clubs, assisted by Wellingtoniajns and other visitors, should- have a; good season.
