Both setslT, of forwards played good hard -games, - but Wanderers. held a slight advantage in weight. They were also- faster in following up and, these. bustling tactics had Shannon wdrried ■ at times. Lincoln, Bartholomew , and W. Winiata, of Wanderers, ' are all worthy of praise for their solid games, while L. Winiata excelled in the hooking department. In the Athletic-Hui Mai match at Manakau McCashin (Hui Mai) once again showed his generalship and played his usual outstanding game in the wet. Natana, another possible Horowhenua representative, also played an outstanding game for Hui Mai and revelled in the wet weather play. For Athletic, Galloway was the outstanding • back and his positional play in backing up the fullback was excellent.
