WELLINGTON, June :9. Eleetric power used in the North fsla-nd last week was again in exeeSS of the allocation. The consumption for the week was 25,439,000 units which Was *820,000 -Units more than the allocation which had 'been fixed at 24,619,000 uUits. Ihe rainfall at -Lake Taupo last Week 'atn'o'unted to 1.29 ixrches but there Was pl'actieally no variatlon between the vea'dings of the lake level taken today and those taken a Week earlier. Lake Waikaremoana, which dropped A of a f'oot, had .57 inches of rain. The dams at Mangahao were reported to be almos't full because of rain which had fallen during the weekend. This amounted to 1.6 inches. , The first generating unit at the new hydro-elec'trie station at ivarapifo is -now on -another fortnight's run nfter a bfief shut-do]!vfts qh.
