Received Friday, 7.0 p.m. CANBERRA, June 6. A decision on 'the lifting of tlie waterside workers' ban on Dutcli shipping in Australian ports is expected before tlie weekend. Tlie Federal secretary of the Water3ide Workers' Federation, Mr. J. Ilealy, and assistant seci'e tary, Mr. E. Iioacli, interviewed Mr. Chifley and other Federal Ministers last night and discussions were still proceeding early today. It is understood that the watersiders are seeking eertain assurances from the Government. Having recently returned from Indonesia, they expected to be in a position to make recommendations to the federation executive after which an announcement will be made.
