The New Zealand Rugby Fnion cabled the New South* Wales Union requesting that replacements be allowea throughout the whole of each game as in previous tours. Mr. Herlihy was instrueted- to agree only to replacements up to half-time. , The All Blacks' captain, Fred Allen, is sufl'ering with a leg injurv and will rest during the next week. There is a doubt whether ho will be fit for the first Test at Brisbane tomorrow week, savs Arr. E. W. Kann, tlie Sun's Rugby writer. Allen should not have played in the opening match of the tour but he sacrificed himself in the interests ot his team.
