, REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL After being in recess for nearly 18 months, ' the full Manawata Regional Planning Council held a meeting in Palmerston North on Tuesday for the purpose of deciding whether it" should become an active organisation, or whether it should continue -in recess - for a further period. The chairman,, Mr, "A. E. Mansford^ presided over a large attendance - of delegates from the member local bodies in the district and other interested organisations. A motion by Mr. Mansford that tfie council should resume activities and that the • matter of appointing a part-time secr etary should be left to the , executive, was defeated. The general opinion of delegates was that they could not commit their organisations to . expenditure for seeretary and administration purposes without reporting back.
