The p.i"evious lighest entry was 450 fox; last year's race. • " 1 The cup staXe has been inCreased this year to £10,000 with the trophy valued at £300. . * . * Entries- for the Canlfield Cup on Octobet 18, total 434, for the Epsom on October 4 194 and for the Metropolitan on October 6 185. They are all ahead of those of last year. Shannon was nominated for the Epsom and Metropolitan but not for the cups. The unbeaten two-year-old Temeraire is not in the Caulfield Cup. His mission will, be the Melbourne Cup if the two Derbies prove hxm to be a stayer. Bruce, claimed to be the best handieap horse in New Zealand, has been entered for the cup and can be regardeil as a certain visitor. New Zealand horses nominated for the Epsom and Metropolitan include Bruce, Master Eobin, Master Dash and Fellowship.
