MISAPPROPRIATED FUNDS
' — TE AROHA, June 4. A guilty plea was entered by Horace Rowbotham, elerk, aged 56, "in Te Aroha today before Messrs W. C. Ivennedy and J, R. Nicol J,'sP., to charges of miaappropriation of funds totalling £1301 : while employed as clerk of the Thames Valley Drainage Board." Accused was cominittod to the Supreme Court, Auckland, for sentence, bail of £100 being allowed, Evidence by the chairman of the Board, Mr, F. E. Ilughes, the audit inspector, Mr. W. J. Kane, and seuior detective W. R. Murrayj. showed that the offences were spread over a, period of 12 of a total of 15, years during which Rowbotham was employed by the board.
