Constable A. Ward, of Ohura, accompanied by Mrs. Ward, is spending his annual leave with friends in Levin. Mr. Ward previously resided in Levin. The Very. Rev. John Davie, a formed moderator of the Presbyterian Churoh in New Zealand, died in Masterton this week. Born in South Canterbury, he received his education in Timaru and later at Otago University where he was prominent both as a scholar and as an athlete. He was ordained at Dipton in 1906, moved to Hokitika in 1911 and three years later went to Palmerston," Otago. In 1922 he went to Masterton and remained there until 1942, when he accepted a call to St. Andrew's Church, Gisborne;
