SHANNON BOBBY CALF POOL
ANNUAL MEETING The Shannon Bobby Calf Pool held its annual generai meeting in the Parish Hall, when Mr. S. W. Barber presided over 150 members. ' Apoiogies were received from Messrs. G. J. Wilde and W. J. Moynihan. Mr. Barber presented the annual report and balance sheet of the pool, following which Mr. Hastings, organiser of the N.Z. Co-op. Pig Marketing Association, deiivered an interesting address on the marketing of calves and fully explained the balance sheet. On the completion of Mr. Hastings' address he was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks by the meeting. The retiring members of the committee were Messrs. S. W. Barber, Barrow and Phillips. On the motion of Mr. Gordon, it was carried that Messrs. Barrow and Phillips be re-elected. Mr. Barber signifying that he wished to retire from the committee, Mr. Lethbridge was elected to fi.ll the vacancy. Following a meeting of the committee Mr. Liggins was elected to the position of chairman. Several members spoke at length on the excellent work which Mr. S. W. Barber had done for the; pool, ; Mr. Barber having- occupied the 'position of chairman since th£ pool was formed in June, 1938. . : On the completion' of the business, Mr. Hastings scfeened a .number of very interesting films, which Were ' greatly ap'preeiated by the members. .When the screening was concluded, ,Mr. "R. J* Law sincerely thank'ed Mr. Hastings for'atten'ding the meeting to- deliver an address and khow the films. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Hastings.
