■ m Personal Mr. and Mrs. C. Sherwood* were weekend. visitors to Otaki. Sister N. Cook, sub-matron of Grey Hospitgl, is home on vacation and is staying with her mother, Mrs. A. Cook, Rangiuru Road. Mr. and Mrs. George Brown and their srriall son, of Westport, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. S. Elliott before proceeding to Auckland. The death occurred at Paraparaumu on Monday of Mrs. Nicholson, at the age of 83 years. She. was a well-known and highly respected resident. Among the WAAC'S who shortly leave for Japan is Miss Ruth Ransfield, of Otaki. This young lady, with Miss Doris Dempsey, of Levin, led the recent parade in Wellington. Vital Statistics Vital statistics for Otaki for May were: — Births: European 12, Maoris nil. Deaths: European 3, Maoris nil. Marriages one. Enjoyable Dance The Rahui Football Club's dance on Saturday night was largely attended and proved most enjoyable. The floor was in good order and there was a splendid supper, while Billy Larkin's orchestra supplied the best of music. Football Success Members of the Rahui Football Club journeyed -to the Hutt on Monday to play for the WylieKeegan Cup, when a most enjoyable day resulted. The game was a good one, Rahui eventually proving the winners. The visitors were entertained at dinner, supper and a dance.
