WELLINGTON, June 3. The first shipment this season of Aus tralian uavel oranges has arrived in Dunedin. In announcing this the. Director of Internal Ararketing, IVLr. R, P. Eraser, said that as tlie result of a very early esason jn Australia, navei oranges had reaehed the Dominion much earjier tlian usual. The ship ment comprises over 12,000 eases oi oranges and 1540 eases of lemons all of which are for distribution in the Soutli Islancl. For distribution in the North Island there are 10,-185 eases of oranges, 354 eases of grapefruit, 12(51 eases ot mandarins and 78 eases of lemons vvliich arrived in Auckland from the Cook 1'slands this week. This ship-. ment is the thircl eitrus fruit importation from the Cook Islauds this year, It was expected, said Mr. Erasev, that this season 's importations of oranges would . the best for some years.
