WELLINGTON, 'May 3. An intensive police liunt was beguu in Wellington this al'ternoon when three inniates of IMount Grawford prison escaped from a working party shortly after 3.3(1 o'clock. Lp ti 11 11 late hour tonight they had not been apprehended. The escaped prisoners are Jesse le Roy Hines, aged 32; Desmond Ilalliday. aged 31; and John Anderson Ilislop, aged 24. The police state that both Hines and Ilalliday boar distinguishing marks the former liaving a scar on the rigli; temple and the latter a scar on his right cheek. Ilalliday and Ilislop are about 5ft 7in in lieight. Hines is fou>" inclies taller. All are men of darh colouri n g. Hines, an Ameriean and formerly a seaman, made a successful break from Waikato prison three weeks ago and snbspquently gave himself up'.
