NATIONAL SAVINGS
Eurther enhancing the National Savings "quota" pos/tions of both Palmerston North and district, activities for last week resulted in another splendid total of £7377 19s being deposited on behalf of the twenty-four f'quota" towns. The city's fignres were £2473 15s 6d and amongst the district towns, Dannevirke was again well to the fore with £1691 4s. On a population basis, the efforts of Woodville £582, and Apiti , £392 8s, were commendable, while other places to be well rdpresented were Ashhurst £429 7s, Feilding £602 4s, and Pahiatua £449 10s. Twenty-one towns succeeded in obtaining or exceeding the amonnt of the weekly quota, the list being as follows: Apiti, Ashhurst, Bulls, Dannevirke, Feilding, Foxton, Glen Oroua, Kimbolton, Levin, Pahiatua, Palmerston North, Pongaroa, Rangiotu, Rangiwahia, Rongotea, Sanson, Shannon,- Tokomaru, Weber, Weraroa, and Woodville.
