While the crew of the Newhall Hills was battling with hre, a radio message from the vessfil said a fishing vessel rah ihto the tanker and no trace bi it has since been seen. Tfie tanker Johri la Farge also sent a radid message that shfe had fcollided with a fishing vessel which sank. No survivors of wredkfige were fbuhd. Lifetioats and other craft searched for liotirs for survivors but found none.
