NEW GOLF RULES MADE
MEETING OF LEVIN CLUB'S COMMITTEE Several new local rules were made by the Levin Golf Club at a meeting of the committee recently. In future a ball hitting a powei line across the-first, twelfth and thirteenth fairways may be replayed.af the option of the player. Also, a ball comihg to rest in any creek or drain, including spoil oh banks, may be lifted and droppea with a penalty of one stroke. in addition, if a ball is lost in similar circumstances, a new one may be dropped.as near as possible to Where the ofiginal one wasToSt, and a penalty of one stroke taken. Placing was limited to the back paddock only. It was decided that the lost ball box be started as sooh as possible, and a list be placed up in the elubhouse for players to register their speeial mark. .The, chairman, Mr. R. A, Fre'derikson, was left to contact Mrs. Lewis regarding the purchase of marked balls found by children. Four new members were elected and one resignation was reeeived. The position of the permanent third green was discussed and it was decided to place the green oh the top of the rise behind the present green. The matter of naming new loles was discussed and tne foh Lowing names were suggested: 1, Tararua; 2, Straight; 3, Waterloo; 4, Ruapehu; 5, Westward Ho; 6, Waiopehu; 7, Marshlands; 8. Hillside; 9, Orchard; 10, Reserve; 11. Sunshine; 12, Shotover; lgr Homestead; 14, Avenue; 15, Tararua; 16. Straight; 17, Homestead; 18' Avenue.
