DAIRY CATTLE IN DEMAND
0» The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having "held * another highly successful clearing sale on, account of Mr. F. D. Crombie, Arapaepae Road, Levin. The cows came forward in very good condition -and the whole herd of 40 head realised the very satisfactory average of £16, all counted. Spirited competition was the keynote of the day, especially on Jtily - August calvers, which brought up to £23 15s. Cows in milk also met with a keen demand. The .following is a range of the prices -realised: July - August calvers, £16 10s, £19 10s, £22- 10s to £23 15s; cows in milk, £15 5s, £16 to £17; three-quarter cows and late calvers, up to £15; -heifers r.w.b., £16 15s; a two-year Jersey bull, £12; weaner heifers, £5 17s 6d; farm horses, £14 to £20. Suhdries sold at late market rates.
