FIRST MEMBERS' NIGHT A PLEASING SUCCESS -The first of a.series of monthly members' nights was held last night by the Horowhenua Scottish Society and Pipe Band, and was .a great success. Following the opening selection by the band, the chief tain of >the society, Mr. J. R. MacFarlane, extended a welcometo the members and paid a tribute to the two immediate past chieftains, . Messrs. N. M. Thomson and A. M. Colquhoun, who had done much. for the society. It would be his ambition to continue their good work. He also made special mention of the band, which was always ready to help with any function. Items were given during the evening by Jill Clark and Colleen Dobson (Highland fling), Mrs. G. Hesp (vocal solos), Mesdames C. Nichol and J. Perigo (a sketch portraying the courtship of a young couple and the subsequent ten years Of married life). A competition arranged by Miss M.
