CHRISTCHUECH, May 22. . "The estimaxed aggregate private income for the year endting March 31 1946, was £325,000,000. This is an ■increase of £21,500,000 over the income for the previous year," said Mr, ; Fraser today. These figures have just been xeceived from the Govternment Statistician. The estimated total of salaries and • wages for the year ending March 1947 !>was £189, 000,060 which represented an advance of £3,800,000 on the total of the previous year. ' ' There has also been a further increase in savings over the past year,'.' contiiiued Mr. Praser. "The total amount to the credit of despositors at March 31, 1947, was £212,500,000. Of this amount £141,000,000 was held to the- credit of depositors in the P.O. S.B., £30,500,000 in trustee savings hanks, and £41,000,000 in national savings accounts and bohds.
