Acclimatisation Society , A meeting of the Otaki branch Df the Acclimatisation Society will be.held o*n Saturday night, when all license holders and supporters are invited to attend. Bowling Tourney The final tournament of the season will be held on the Otaki Railway Bowling Club's green at the weeekend. Already rinks have been entered from both the Wellington and Manawatu Centres, embracing leading players. Card Party The card party conducted by the Rahui Hockey Club in the Druids' Hall on Mo'nday night was very enjoyable, and the arrangements were ably carried out by an energetic committee. Prize-wi'h-ners were: Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Bailey, Mr. Dowling and Mr. Cootes. State Gardens At a meeting of natives at Raukawa on Monday night, Mr. H. Jacobs presiding, it was decided to form State demonstration gardens in Otaki, the object having the support of the Native Department. Mr. Fell, who intends to reside in Otaki, gave an interesting address on the aims and objects of the movement, stating that it was to foster horticulture and encourage the natives to take an interest in gardening. The district embraced the area from the Waikanae River to Hawera. It was hoped to purchase a tractor to help in the work. Land for the purpose of gardening has been secured at the Railway end of the town.
