THREE POWER PARLEYS ON AFRICAN TERRITORIES

Received Wednesday, 11.30 a.m. PARIS, May 20. The British, French and Belgiah conference o'n the territories wliich the three powers bold in West and Central Africa has opened with the officially stated object of co-ordinating public health, irrigation and communication s.ervices in those territories. The Paris newspaper Combat, however, says the conference foreshadows a complete transfer within three years of British military responsibility in the -Mediterranean to the U'nited States. The line of the British Empire would then be drawn through East Africa, Kenya and Rhodesia, with Nigeria replacine Gibraltar as the western bastion of clefence.
