IN THE WRESTLING RING

Spectator)

KUSS AND HENRY STAGE FINE BOUT

(By

When the leg artist Otto Kuss met Big Jim Henry at Wellington last week, one of the finest oouts seen in the .capital resulted. Although Kuss won, his victory was rewarded after a very hard fight and it is a long time since two men have been so evenly matched as these two. Henry secured the first fall by means of his effective hold, the Boston Crab, and it was by the misuse of this hold that Kuss was awarded a penalty fall. Henry secured his hold again, but his opponent narrowly squirmed his way under the ropes. When referee Jenkins called on Henry to release his hold the latter ignored the order, with the result that a penalty fall was given to Kuss. The bout from here on was most exciting, and it developed on many occasions to a boxing match. Kuss' winning fall came brilliantly in the seventh round, when he brought his opponent, who was outside the ring, over the ropes and into the centre by means of a leg scissors. Before Big Jim could recover, Kuss had had time to gain a tdp body press and was awarded the bout. At Wellington tomorrow night Jim Wright meets Kay Bell. Palmerston Nor.th has Paul Boesch and Kay Bell wrestling there tonight and Lofty Blomfield and Tom Rice wrestle at Christchurch tomorrow night.
