NATIONALIST VICTORIES.
Received Monday, 10 p,m. « NANK3NTG, May 19. Government reports claimed that Communists troops in Central Shantung were falling back northwards pursued l>v seven NTationaUst divisions which had eaptured live mpuntain strongliolds and inflicted heavv casualties. The balt.le which wontd decide Shantung 's fate was now turning delinitely in favour of the Nationalists. Tn Manchuria, according to semiofHcial reports, Communist raiders inflltrated into the air field in the suburbs of the capital, Changchun, but after damaging the installafions were repulsed by the airfield garrison. Meanwhile the main Commnhist force stormedi into Huaiteji, 26 miles west of Changchun but the adyance units wero halted following heavy fighting, withiq i ten miles of the capital. Tlie Government claimed that the Nationalists were still liolding, Sentitu and Hliaiteh.
