MIDWIFERY FOR CHINESE

Returmng to China in the near future to work with the Council for the Organisation of Relief Services Overseas (CORSO) in the starting of a model midwifery training school for Chinese nurses, and to concc'ntrate on infant welfare to be conducted in a similar way to the Plunket system, is Miss Joyce M.'Horner, formerly of Dunedin. It is hoped to set up the training school at Wuchimg, the capital of Hupeh province. A London missionary nurse, Miss Gillison, who has been in China for 15 years, will be associated with Miss Horner in her work. Miss Horner has been absent from New Zealand 'for two years, and returned -from China on Mav 2. Prior to being in China, Miss Horner spent eight months in Germany doing welfare work with UNRRA. ' * Miss Horner is a sister of Mrs. W. ! Ciark, of Te Horo, and recently spent a holiday in Otaki.
