Opiki - Tokomaru area. — Herds 25, cows 1134, milk 378 lbs., test 5.82, fat 22 lbs.; highest herd: cows 84, fat 31 lbs. April Weather During the month of April rain fell on 15 days at No. 1 dam, at Mangahao, and measured 6.19 inches, while at Mangaore there were nme wet days and the measured rainfall was 2.56 inches. Temperatures recorded in the shade at Shannon during the month were as follows: Highest day temperature 75 degrees on the 13th, lowest day temperature 59 degrees on the 16th, highest night temperature 62 degrees on the 16th and lowest 42 degrees on the 5th and 7th. Soil Erosion Films Speaking at Tuesday evening's meeting of the Shannon Borcugh Council, Cr. R. R. Lind, the council's representative on the Manawatu Catchment Board, stated that the board's mobile film unit would be visiting Shannon on Tuesday, May 20, when a number of sound films dealing with soil erosion and river control in New Zealand and overseas would be screened at the Parish Hall.
