A brillia'ntly. frne day. led to high scores, and uhe winners ' were Upper Hutt. Their total of 790 was a record, being 13 points! higher than the previous best over -the 38 years that this annual competition has been fired. Possibles were ' scored at 300 yards by O. L. Whiteman (Upper Hutt) and , A. J. • Brown (Ngatiawa) , at 500 yards by R. H. and O. L. Whiteman (Upper Hutt) and L. E. Monk (Hautere) a'nd at 600 yards by J. A. Monk (Ngatiawa) .
