EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETS All f ootball clubs . in the Horowhenua Rugby Union's district are to be notified that ' i'n future whenever a player is injur.ed during a match he will be removed to the sideline, : unless his '.condition (s too serious • to allow his r.emoval. This was deeided at Tuesday night's meeting bf the management committee of the union, when it was reported by Mr. C. E. Wiseley, a representative of the referees' associatipn that games were being held up anecessarily while a player wa; being attended to. by members of the St. John Ambulance. Shannon Club wrote .advising ' that it now had a fourth grade team available, and requested that it be allowed to-?entef the .competition for the second round. The club also enquired aboui the regradmg of players for this team. The union .considered the application favourably, and the' regrading is to come forward in the usual manner. The Otago Football Union wrote regretting -that its team whiqh w^s -ravelling this year would be unable to play -Horowhenua this season. The Horowhenua game against Manawatu will be played in Palmerston North on August 9 as a curtain raiser to -the Manaw"*'1 rriatch ' with Taranaki. "The return game will be played in Levin on September 6. Punahau were grantqd permjssion to play the Huia Club, Taihape, in Levin on . July 5 as ;a curtain raiser to the HorowhenuaBush match. The match will be for the Mako Cup which Punahau " hold. A challenge was also forwarded to Bush for the Bebbin.gt.on Shield, with a request that the , game be played on a suitable ground.
