Lat-ge scale research irtto methods for tlie education of children of lowi Lntelligence, was nrg'ed on tlie Government by a remit passed at tlie annual cOilference of the New ZOa'land' Secondary Schools Association'. The remit, which was from the Thames High School, said this was desirable in vieW : of the obvious unsuitability of even tho present widened post pri m'a'ry syllabus, for pupils of lo.w intelligence now entering post primary schools. It was suggested that the research should be through the Council Of Edueational Research. Religious teaching in' scllool's Was the subject of a lengthy discuSsiOn. Differing opinions were expressed by delegates and it was fmal-ly d'ecide'd that •the' execufive seek the Vibws'- .of post" primary teachers by a questi'oifnaire on the subject in the next year.
