PcrsonSfl Mrs. Boyd has returned from a holiday in Hawke's Bay. . Mr. B. Ryder has returned from the Wairarapa. Mrs. Weston, of Napier, /is visiting friends in Otaki. „ Mr. and Mrs. R. Stevenson and son, of Lower Hutt> are at present spending a holiday in Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. Whitelaw, of Rangiuri, are holiday-making in Napier. Mr Henry Mead has returned to civil life in Otaki . after a isojourn with the services in Japan. The many friends of Mrs. J . Southgate will regret to hear that she has had the misfortune to break a bone in her wrist. The wedding took place at the Otaki Presbyterian Church on Saturday morning . of Mr. Peter ("Chum") Bloomfield, and Miss joyce. Merwood, both well-known sports, the former in cycling circles and the latter at.basketball. The Rev. Mr. Ashwin was the officiating minister. The ceremony was witnessed by a number of friends. Ducks Plentiful According to an Otaki sportsman with wide experience, ducks were more plentiful in the district this seasom than for years past, but on account of the opening day being so clear shooting was poor and the ducks had a chance of going out to sea, where they were seen in hundreds. Otaki Races . Acceptances .for the Otaki Maori Racing Club's meeting close with the secretary, Mr. N. Winiata, tomorrow ' night . at 8 o'clock. Arrangements for the meeting are well in hand, and if the weather is fine the attemdanee should exceed expectatioiis. Mr. J. Kelleher will be in charge of the booths.
