FRENCH ADMIRATION FOR MR. CHURCHILL
Received Sunday, 7.0 p.m. ... PARIS, May 10. Mountain Republican Guards lined the avenue leading into the Court of Honour and military bands and detachments of farnous French Regiinents paraded in the court at Invalides Palace where M. Ramadier presented - Mr. Churchill with the Medaille Militaire which Fra'nce awarded him as "one of the artisaus of the liberation of France." Parisians, many carryiwg Union Jacks, assembled early outside Invalides Palace -to catch a glimpse of Mr. Churchill and shouted "Vivo Churchill" when ne dTove through the gates into the'' courtyard. Mi. Churchill wore an army uniform and was accompanied by Mr, Duff Cooper. General Leclerc, former comniander of the French Armoured Division in the Free French forces and General Detas signy, Inspector-General of the French Army, accompanied M. Ramadier. Among the traditional" privileges Mr. Churchill will be granted is a life pension of 100 pence "a year" and the right to be taken home by gendarme^ in a taxi if he is ever found intoxic&ted in Paris.
