CHURCH UNION AND ROMANISM

Beceived Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDOX, May 10. The World Evangelical Alliance, in a statement published in "Evangelical Christendom," says reunion with the Eomiin Catliolic Church which is involved in the ultimate objective of the World Council of Gliurches for the reunion of Christendom, is not only impossible but also undesirable unless there is a complete revolution in both the doetrine and practice of Romanism. It adds' that the World Evangelical Alliance has been the champion of religio.us liberty vvliile the Eoman Catholic. Church has been its oppohent in this. Althougli it is the duty of all Christian churches to form a united front against the common enemies of Communism and rationalism, the World Evangelical Alliance doubts the wisdom of a forced union where no real unity or spirit can exist.
