RETURNING FRUSTRATED AND DISILLUSIONED
Received Monday, 10.30 a.m. LONDON, May 11. The Australian", Mr. Julian Simpson, "Home Secretary" of the British Control Commission, has resigned, says the Daily Express' Berlin correspondent. Mr. Simpson is returning "disillusioned and frustrated" to England tomorrow. He will tell Mr. Attlee that he failed to cleanse the control commission of major British racketeers because of opposition and passive resistance by high officials. Therefore, he and the Scotland Yard racket busters were wasting their time in Germany. He will urge Mr. Attlee to appoint a Royal Commission to enquire into the Control Commission's activities. Mr. Simpson told Lord Pakenham, British Minister in Germany, much of this last night when they dined with Sir Sholto Douglas. Mr. Simpson also proposes to see Mr. Churchill before he returns next month "fed up to the back teech" to Australia after a year with the commission.
