NAPIER, May 8. Tlie trend of higher prices in recent vvooi saies in other eentres was apparent today at the sixth sale of the season held in Napier. Well-styled fleece vvools sold at a higher level than at the previous Napier auction and steady bidding, emanated from Avell spread conipetition. The morning's top price was 31d for 11 bales of scoured pieees. Eour bales of scoured beliies from* the same station brought 29d. Crutchings sold at up to -8^d and locks to 24d. In the early stages lambs wool was not sought after, but eomp'etition hardened and reniained firm. In the early afternooii ohe ( Idt brought 29^d and otherij 26id to 28|d.| . Canada, Bradford and the Continent were keen buyers of lambs Wool. Some high prices were paid for super lines, but average and inferior lines met with erratic competi.tion at lower prices.
