SCHOOL SWIMMING BATHS

BOARD'S CONTINUED DELAY CRITICISED Feeling ran high at thls month's meeting of the Otaki School Committee at the continued failure of the Wellington Education Board to proceed with the construction of a swimming pool at. the school. It was stated that - the necessary material was available and the work could easily be accomplished. It was decided to point out tothe board that during the summer months a learners' pool was necessary, and to draw attention to the inconvenience and loss of Pime involved by the staff having to take the children a considerable distance to rivers for tuition • in swimming. Should the board still decline to proceed with the work, it was resolved that a petition from parents be forwarded. It is now three or four years since the committee took the matter of providing baths in hand, and for which it had a large sum of money in hand. On the other hand not a step towards finalising the matter had been taken by the board. ■
