At tlie lnonthly meeting of the rlirectors of the Palmerston North Co-opera-tive Building Sbciety, Mr. H. Flndlay Wilson presided. Other- directors present were Messrs D. F. Smillie, H. Cliristmas, F. Jackson, G. M. Eennie atid Geo. Corbridge. -Ballots in groups 12 and 15 were held for interest-free loans, the following -members being successful: — Mrs. M. BrUcey, Otaki, £100; Mr. S. A. Davey, Lower Hutt, £500; Mr. N.- C. Buiek, Palmerston North, £500. Business was conducted in all groups. In'group 5) a fefund of snbscriptions at '5 per cent. was approved of and in gioup 10 a tender for £900 at £15 per cent. was aecepted. In group 14 an application to p.lace a ballot of £500 with the society for ' three years was approved and in jt he general department loatis totalling £2500* were graiited after the directors had heard the reports of the valuer. The seeretal'y reported that group 16 was~now tilled and the board decided to go into the matter of forming a new group in the near future.
