ANNUAL MEETING At the annual meeting of the Shannon branch of the National Party, in the absence of the chairman (Mr. S. H. Roberts), Mr. L. H. Best was voted to the chair. The action of the secretary (Mr. R. H. Charter) in writing to Mrs. S. H. Roberts, conveying the sympathy of all members in the accident which befell .Mr. Roberts was endorsed. The meeting was unanimous m its decision in wishing that Mr. Roberts should be re-elected chairman for a further term, but, In view of the fact that Mr. Roberts had intimated that he did not wish to stand for the office for the comrng year, it was decided that he be re-elected protem, with Mr. F. J. Lucinsky as vicechairman. When Mr. Roberts is well again and able to attend "a meeting, tributes to the able manner i-n which he has filled the position of chairman for the past two years will be paid, and and endeavour made to prevail 'On him to continue to fi.ll the position. • Officers were elected -as folltftvs: —Secretary and treasurer: Mr. R.
