While in the North Island ,Mr. Tibbs took the opportunity of accompanying Mr. Elvines on a fishing trip to Lake Taupo. Card Winners The weekiy card evenings conducted by the local branch of the Labour Party continue to • be a popular attraction each Friday evening. Last week's winners were Mrs. B. Coulter and Mr. Redshaw. "Top Dogs" Golf Match The "top dogs" golf match played at Buckley over the weekend resulted in the holders, Messrs. J.- Mabey and W. Stern, being defeated by Messrs. F. Picard and H. Karena, five up and four to play. Next week the challengers will be Messrs. V. E. Tippler and K. Thomson. Moutba Hall Committee At a meeting of the Moutoa Hall Committee on Monday evening it was decided to continue the Sat- = urday evening dances which proved so popular last winter. The first of the new series will be held tnext Saturday, when the proceeds will be to aid the hall funds.
