RAINFALL AT OTAKI

OVER TWO INCHES FOR APRIL * Mr. F. H. Critchley reports that during April the rainfall in Otaki was 2.36 inches, with the highest fall of 1.78 inches on the ll!h. Rain fell on seven days. There were fbur slight frosts, one rf which was severe enough to -f-reeze outside water. There was a light earthquake at 5.40 a.m. on the 29th. There was cairn at 9.30 a.m. on 21 days. Generally, it was a delightful month. For April, 1946, the rainfall was 2.80 inches, with rain falling on twelVe days. The rainfall for the 24 hours ending 9.30 a.m. on Mrtiday was 44 points.'
