Employment Committees
The J New Zealand National Employment Service has now set up advisory employment commit-. tees in the main centres for the baking industry, the freezing industry, the motor trades, road transport and tramways. A committee for the laundry industry in Auckland has also been sqt up. A recent I.L.O. publication records that "most countries attach special importance to reinforcing the employment service machinery with an active network of local committees representative of the management and labour interests in the community." Canada in 1946 has some 62 such committees operating, Great Britain had some 340, and the Uhited States and other countries also had wide networks of employment committees.
