Julie Bishop retired from films temporarily over a year ago when she became the wife of Col. C. A. Shoop, technical director of "Gallant Journey," retums to the screen in the leading feminine role in Columbia's "The Last of the Redmen." Miss Bishop was under contract to Columbia a few years ago and subsequently was under contract to Warner Bros. Lucille Ball has beem set to costar with Franchot Tone in "The Mating Call," under a loan-out deal . made last week with M.-G.-M. by Tone and Raphael Hakim, who will produce the picture. The comedy will be directed by S. Sylvan Simon. The 300-year-old adobe tov/xi of Tubac, Arizona, and its entire population of 35 Indians, Mexicans and Whites, was rented for one day's shooting of "Three Were Thoroughbreds," technicolour Western drama being made by Cavalier Productions for Columbia.
