WHAT ENGLISH TOUR WILL COST LEAGUE
AUCKLAND, May 1. Information that the fortheoming tour of England by the New Zealand Rugby League team would require an initial outlay of between £13,000 and £14,000, wras given to the annual meefing of the New Zealand League by the president, Mr. J. A. Redwood. A suggestion froiu the Maori Control Board that out-of-poclcet expenses granted to players on all tours should coniist of £4 a week for single men and £6 for married men, was deferred for consideration by the council. Mr. Redwood said the League hoped to be able to reimburse players on tonrs to the extent of their normal income but there were diffieulties in the way. He suggested that the bonus system might be adopted for the team visiting England, the players to receive proportionate sums from any profits mado on the tour.
