' WELLINGTON, April 30. In view of the fact that negotiations with the Government had already been opened, the annual meeting' of the Royal New Zealand Aero Club today rejeeted a motion that the Government be approached on the question of the training of Air Training Corps pilots and of acGompanying subsidies. The West Coast Aero Club .moved that the Government should be u'rged to arrange fol the training of personnel of the Air Training Corps by aero clubs and that subsidies be'granted on the lines of those paid for Civil Reserve training. The president (Mr. - R. T. Cadwallader) stated that already negotiations had been opened with the -Government for training A.T.C. pilots, but they had not progressed far. In answmr to a question, he said a sub-committee waited on the Air Secretary on December 20 last. Recommendations had been made previously and subinitted to the Minister of Defence. Mr. Cadwallader explained that details of the proposals were confidenti'al and were not at the stage where they should be circulated to the clubs. Following the president 'a explanation the remit was lost. Another decision regarding club funds was that the Government should be approached to permit art unions to assist in the formation of aero clubs. The council was recommended to take steps to obtain the . cooperation of affiliated clubs for the provision of privileges and facilities to visiting members of ©ther affiliated clubs, • It was decided that one offieial pageant be held each year alternately in the North Island and the South Island. It was also decided that a subcommittee be set up to revise the rules governing competition at the offieial pageants, the sub-committee to be set up by the council. The Marlborough Club proposal, that steps be taken to investigate the possibility of standardising all aero club flying fees, was rejected. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Mr. W. J. Seaton (Auckland) ; vice-presidents, Messrs H. D. Christie (Christchurch) and N. M. McLaren (Nelson) ; secretary; Mr. R. G. Bannister (Wellington); auditor Mr. G. D. Reid.
