HOCKEY CLUBS FORMED

REVIVAL OF GAME IN OTAKI Some 30 young ladies and; a number of other enthus.iasts met at, ,'AThC, ..Chrqpjql?^ ( pffi?e,5 ; ptgkl, on Tuesday evening to consider I the revival of hockey. Considerable interest was displayed and those present were keen on the formation of clubs. At least two' were formed in the room, one representing Raukawa and the j other Rahui, with the prospects of ' a third later, it being thought that ! girls from the ' tobacco factory would become interested. While Ohau, Paraparaumu and Waikanae have not formed clubs, it is expected that girls from these districts will join forces with the Otaki clubs. A telephonic communication from Levin regretted that on account of lack of transport represcntatives were unable to attend, | but assured the Otaki players that two and, perhaps, three teams .would probably be formed. It was asked that, if possible, some ! matches be played in the mornings? j and that association meetings be ; held at bot.h Otaki and Levin. No ; promise, however. could be made. j the - -association not having yet j been formed. When this is done I delegates from clubs will be | appointed to form an association, ! and matters for the good of the I game discussed. | Intending players present at the i meetfng were keen to get going, J and anyone having hockey sticks, { pads, etc., are asked to notify "The ; Chronicle" Office, either at Otaki or Levin. The name's of * anyone wishing to play should communicate with heir secretaries as early as possible. Among those present at Tuesi day's meeting were sevefal "old- | timers" who are anxious to get J under way. j Already two fine rose bowls, two ; valuable cups- and a shield are i ready for competition, but, unforItunately, two small shields have I been removed from the large one. Anyone having these will oblige by forwarding them to "The Chronicle" Office, and thus obvi'ate the expense of securing the two missing miniature shields.
